Barboursville (Barboursville)

This could be the most well-known winery in Virginia. Located on an estate that dates as far back as the 18th century, it is owned by the Zonin family. Boxwood Estate (Middleburg)

Blenheim Vineyards (Charlottesville)

Owned by the legendary rock star Dave Matthews, this tranquil setting has a range of historic buildings that you can tour when visiting. If you are part of a group, it is always a good idea to book in advance due to the vineyard’s immense popularity.

Breaux Vineyards (Purcellville)

Situated in the hills of Loudon County, this is one of the largest wineries in the entire state. Boasting nearly 20 different varieties of grape, there is something to suit all tastes here. For a basic drop-in tasting session, the prices start at $10. They do operate a seasonal opening schedule, so it is best to check in advance for the current opening times.

Early Mountain Winery (Madison)

If you truly want an eclectic range to sample from, try the Early Mountain Winery. Here, you can choose from a range of wines originating onsite as well as other local wineries (including those mentioned earlier in this list).
